Welding Shop

The welding shop has grown from a few welders and tables to containing all the equipment shown below. The Ware Lab encourages students to take the steps for certi˙cation so that they can learn another aspect of hands-on manufacturing while working on their project. The newest addition to the shop is a CNC plasma cutter from Plasma CAM which has been used extensively by many teams since its installation in December 2007.

Students may use the welding shop from 8am to 11pm, 7 days a week. The welding shop supervisor is available to provide assistance on M-F from 8 am to 5 pm.

For information on how to gain access to the Ware Lab and the machine shop, please visit the Lab Access page. Any student in the College of Engineering involved in an undergraduate Ware Lab project can use the machine shop after completing certification.
