Ware Lab Team Competition and Outreach Events

Ware Lab teams participate in regional, national and international competitions across the United States and the world! Our undergraduate team members make excellent representatives for Virginia Tech and have the opportunity to interact with engineering students from other top universities. Upcoming competitions and major outreach events for Ware Lab teams include:

• February 16, 2013 – BAJA SAE – Winter BAJA, Michigan Tech, Lake Linden, Michigan.

• February 22, 2013 - Virginia Western Community College Technology Summit, VWCC Main Campus Gym, Roanoke, Virginia.

• March 7, 2013 – Outreach Event - Roanoke Technology Expo, Transportation Museum of Virginia, Roanoke, Virginia. Ware Lab participation begins at 10:00 am to 6 pm.

• March 15 to 17, 2013 - SAE Aero Design East, Forth Worth, Texas.

• March 23, 2013– Outreach Event - Kids Tech University interactive session led by Dr. Leigh McCue-Weil & hands-on activities at Virginia Tech http://kidstechuniversity.vbi.vt.edu/ Ages: 9 - 12. 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Set up begins at 12:30 pm. Location TBA.

• April 19 to 21, 2013 – AIAA Design Build Fly! (DBF!) – International AIAA DBF! Competition, Location: TBA.

• April 18 to 21, 2013 – BAJA SAE Series – Baja SAE, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee.

• May 8 to 11, 2013– Formula SAE – FSAE Michigan, Michigan International Speedway, Brooklyn, Michigan.

• May 14 to 26, 2013 – Hybrid Electric Vehicle Team (HEVT) – EcoCAR 2, Year Two Competition, Yuma, Arizona and San Diego, California.

• May 20 to 24, 2013 – Lunabotics – NASA Fourth Annual Lunabotics Mining Competition, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, Florida.

• June 19 to 22, 2013– Formula SAE - FSAE Lincoln, Lincoln Airpark, Lincoln, Nebraska.

• June 24 to 28, 2013 – Human Powered Sub (HPS) – International Sub Race ISR 12, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock, Maryland.

• July 18 to 21, 2013 – VTRocketry – NASA Third Annual VTRocketry Competition, Huntsville, Alabama.

• July 22 to 28, 2013 – Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Team (AUVT) – AUVSI Foundation and ONR's 15th International RoboSub Competition, at US Navy SSC Pacific TRANSDEC, San Diego, California.
