Applications to enter during the summer or fall semester are due by February 15 of the year you intend to enter (we do not accept applications for the spring semester). Note:  international applicants must meet a January 15 deadline for summer or fall admission.  For more information on the transfer application process please see the Admissions website.

Transfer students are admitted to General Engineering (GE) by the admissions office; after one semester (or 12 credit hours) of completed course work at Virginia Tech a student may apply to enter a degree-granting engineering major.

Degree-requirements (checksheets) for every engineering major can be found http://www.registrar.vt.edu/graduation/checksheets/index.html

If you are transferring from a Virginia Community College, please see additional information here.

If you are transferring from another university or college (not a Virginia Community College) within the United States, you may view our on-line Transfer Equivalency Database to see how your courses may transfer to Virginia Tech.
