Jens Cattarius
Jens Cattarius, a Ph.D. graduate of Virginia Tech’s Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics, is the newly appointed director and chief executive officer of Mercedes Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), the largest R&D center of Daimier AG outside of Germany.
Cattarius joined Daimler Chrysler AG in the commercial vehicle department analyzing ride and handling characteristics of Mercedes-Benz vans. In 2001 he switched business units and over the course of the next nine years, Cattarius held various positions within Mercedes-Benz Vans, including responsibilities in the fields of vehicle dynamics and chassis systems. Currently, his work entails product development projects in Europe, North America and India which involve body building interactive solutions.
He has a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University Darmstadt.
