Increasing Diversity through Engineering Academic Scholarships
Entering Fall 2013 FRESHMAN (IDEAS Increasing Diversity through Engineering Academic Scholarships) applicants
To be eligible for this award, a student must meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrate Financial need (via the FAFSA)
- Be included in an under-represented category (American Indian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native Alaskan, Pacific Islander)
Each scholarship awarded will potential be a 2-year award (based on academic performance once enrolled). The first year award is a $4000 scholarship ($2000 fall/$2000 spring); the scholarship can be renewed a second year based on continued academic performance in the amount of $2000 ($1000 fall/$1000 spring). Freshman awards will be made based on the students’ admissions application (i.e. a separate scholarship application is not needed), with notification of a scholarship offer to be made by April 1, 2013.
Entering Fall 2013 TRANSFER IDEAS (Increasing Diversity through Engineering Academic Scholarships) applicants
To be eligible to apply for this award, a student must meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrate Financial need (via the FAFSA)
- Be lacking transfer credit for ENGE 1024/1104 or 1114 sequence, and begin enrollment summer II 2013 by taking 5-credit Introductory Engineering course (ENGE 1434)
The first portion of the Transfer IDEAS award will cover the cost of tuition & fees for the 5-credit course in summer 2013 (will cover in-state or out-of-state costs); additional hours a student takes in summer II will not be covered by this award. Upon successful completion of the summer course, each awardee will receive a $2000 scholarship for the academic year (beginning the fall following the summer enrollment), which could be renewed into a 2nd academic year based on continued academic performance. Application for Transfers must be postmarked by June 7, 2013.
