Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) delivered the keynote speech at Virginia Tech’s Seventh Annual Energy Harvesting Workshop in Blacksburg.
“Days like today keep me energized and hopeful about America’s future. My vision for the nation’s energy policy is straightforward – drill, dig, discover, and deregulate,” he said.
Experts from across the country and around the globe came to Virginia Tech’s workshop to discuss and review past developments, current challenges, and future goals pertaining to energy harvesting. Shashank Priya, associate professor of mechanical engineering at Virginia Tech, organized this conference and directs the Center for Energy Harvesting Materials and Systems.
“In line with my energy vision, these experts play a key role in discovering ways to keep the world charging ahead towards energy development. I want to commend the folks at Virginia Tech for bringing together these experts and for again putting on this workshop. At a time when we’re not getting a lot of good news in Washington, it’s really great to come back home and see the leadership and all the advances the people and institutions of the Ninth are making for the country and the world,” Griffith said.
