Sarah Mayer is director of affordability for F/A-18 & EA-18 programs for Global Strike Systems, Boeing Defense, Space & Security. She is responsible for leading the affordability initiatives required to meet multi-year savings commitments to the U.S. Navy and achieve market-based pricing for both domestic and international customers.

Prior to this position, Ms. Mayer was the director of Army/Navy/Marine Corps Programs for Training Systems & Services (TSS), a division of Global Systems & Services, Boeing Defense, Space & Security. Her responsibilities included the leadership, growth and execution of the programs within the Army/Navy/Marine Corps subdivision of TSS, which includes the F/A-18, EA-18, P-8A, T-45, V-22, AH-64, and H-47 platforms, for both domestic and international customers.

Prior to this position, Ms. Mayer was the director of New Programs & Systems for the Army Integrated Logistics team within Global Services & Support, where she was responsible for leading the Army Integrated Logistics team's efforts to identify, develop and capture new business opportunities within the non-aviation segments of the U.S. Army. 

From 2003 to 2005, she was director of logistics for the C-130 Avionics Modernization Program (AMP), and the Advanced Support Program Manager for the F/A-18 program, a position that followed her assignment leading the F/A-18 Integrated Readiness Support Teaming (FIRST) Program. She has held a variety of positions since joining the company in 1988 including chief engineer for the F/A-18A/B/C/D programs, leadership of T-45 Business Development, and an assignment in Boeing's Washington, D.C. office.

Ms. Mayer holds a master's degree in business administration from Washington University in St. Louis and a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech. She also serves on the mechanical engineering department advisory board for Virginia Tech.
