As Director of News and External Relations, Ms. Nystrom has responsibility for special events, specific alumni relations, dissemination of news, production of brochures, and general public relations activities.
Lynn Nystrom received her bachelor's degree in journalism from Radford University in December of 1972. She has taken all of the course work for her master's in science and technology studies.
Prior to her employment at Virginia Tech, she served as editor and general manager of a twice a week newspaper in Virginia. She has won numerous awards for her writing and publication work, including Virginia Tech's President's Award for Excellence and Virginia Press Women's Distinguished Service Award.
