Dale leads the Information Technology team in the dean’s suite. Her team is responsible for the design and maintenance of the college’s web presence, providing the dean’s suite information technology and desktop support, and software support for Engineering students. Additionally Dale coordinates information technology efforts that benefit the entire college and facilitates all college level information technology projects.
Dale has an M.B.A. from Auburn University and a B.A. in Computer Science from Smith College. She also holds several Information Technology certifications including Microsoft Certified System Engineer and Comptia A+ and Network+ certifications.
Before joining Engineering in October 2008, Dale was the Director of Information Technology for Pamplin College of Business. She also taught New Communications Technology for the Communications Studies Department here at Virginia Tech for one year. Prior to moving to Blacksburg, Dale was an officer in the United States Air Force for 12 years where she honed her information technology and leadership skills. She was an instructor navigator as well and taught in both the classroom and operational environmental. She began her Air Force career as Financial Systems Analyst.
