Responsibilities

Christina is a Graduate Assistant in the Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity.

She is part of the support staff for the Galileo and Hypatia Living/Learning Communities and is responsible for teaching the Hypatia seminar for first-year participants.  In the summer of 2011, she was the Assistant Director of the Computers and Technology at Virginia Tech (C-Tech2) camp, a two-week program designed to introduce engineering to female high school students.

Education

Christina received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2010.  She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Virginia Tech-Wake Forest University School for Biomedical Engineering and Sciences. 

Background

Christina joined the CEED office in June 2011.  Although, she is new to the staff team, she is familiar with the CEED office and its mission.  She was a participant in the Hypatia Living/Learning Community during her first year as an undergraduate student at Virginia Tech.  She was a coach and supervisor for the Virginia Tech Recreational Sports Gymnastics Instruction Program throughout her undergraduate career and during the first year of graduate school.
