Bevlee Watford, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Affairs

Area of Responsibilities:
Bevlee A. Watford is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for the College of Engineering.  The Academic Affairs office is responsible for all matters pertaining to undergraduate students.  This includes activities related to recruitment, matriculation and graduation of students.  Curriculum and accreditation issues are also within the scope of academic affairs.

Dr. Watford is also the Director of the Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity.

Education:
Bev earned all of her degrees from Virginia Tech’s College of Engineering (BS Mining Engineering, MS and PhD in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research).

Background:
Dean Watford has worked at Virginia Tech since 1992, becoming associate dean in 1997.  She has two children, Devon (a son at Blacksburg Middle School) and Leah (a daughter at Margaret Beeks Elementary school) who intend to be Hokies as well (to her infinite delight).  Her professional interests are focused on ensuring that all students who desire an engineering degree are successful.  She is particularly interested in helping under-represented students achieve their educational and professional goals, whether these goals are in engineering or any other field.
