The Office of Research and Graduate Studies

Overview
The College of Engineering Office of Research and Graduate Studies provides information, coordination and support for faculty and graduate students for the graduate research and education program.  It serves as the central contact point for initiating communication between agencies, companies and individuals interested in research and/or graduate education programs and College of Engineering faculty.  The Office maintains information on faculty research programs and distributes the monthly newsletter EngNews.

In addition, the Office schedules and manages the preparation of statistics for national surveys of engineering colleges, schedules and manages assessment of department graduate programs, administers distribution of equipment funding, negotiates proposal cost sharing arrangements and a myriad number of administrative details affecting the operation of the college research and graduate programs.

Note: Registration for April 2008 FE exam

If you plan on taking the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam on April 12, 2008, please note the deadline for application is Friday, February 8.   As there may be materials you need to obtain for documentation, you are urged to look at the application requirements now and begin completing your application.  Pay special attention to the documentation required for questions number 11 & 12; we CANNOT waive the requirement for the documentation.  Any questions pertaining to the required documentation should be directed to DPOR at 804-367-85121.

If you are unsure whether you should take the FE, please discuss this with your advisor, and the importance of the FE/EIT (Engineer - in - Training) designation in your prospective field.

You may submit complete applications in 212 Hancock Hall between 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday.  The deadline to register for the April 2008 exam is Friday, February 8, 2008 at 5pm.  No late applications will be accepted.
