Dr. Chris Hendrickson Duquesne Light Company Professor of Engineering and Director of the Steinbrenner Institute for Environmental Education and Research Carnegie Mellon University

Sustainable infrastructure requires consideration of economic benefits and costs, environmental impacts and social impacts. Life cycle assessment is reviewed as a critical methodology to promote sustainable infrastructure. Alternative energy futures and new technologies have significant implications for investments for achieving more sustainable infrastructure. Dr. Hendrickson's seminar will provide examples from building, energy and transportation infrastructure."
