Google CEO Coming to Blacksburg Thursday with Mark Warner
Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google and Blacksburg native and son of a former Virginia Tech faculty member, will be in town on Thursday, October 23rd, with former Governor Mark Warner.
Schmidt funded the Paul and Dorothea Torgersen Dean's Chair of Engineering with a $2 million gift in 2006. College of Engineering Dean Richard Benson holds this chair.
Due to Mr. Schmidt's status as a commencement speaker and donor to the university, the Alumni Association is sponsoring this event, which will be held at the Lyric Theater from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
