The Imagination 2015 application process is now open.
Do you get tired of the same old thing summer after summer?
If the answer is "yes," then you may want to consider attending Imagination 2015. You will be introduced to the exciting and fun "stuff" we do at Virginia Tech. We have engineers, scientists, and college students who are ready to help you explore the world of technology, engineering, and science not by watching, but by DOING!
When is the Camp Held?
July 13 – 17 and July 20 - 24, 2015
You choose which week you would like to attend.
Please note: Transportation will be provided to and from Roanoke during the second week only (July 20 - 24).
Who is Eligible?
If you are a rising 7th or 8th grader and have not previously participated in our camp, you are eligible to apply. Imagination 2015 is part of the partnership between Virginia Tech's College of Engineering and Roanoke City Schools. However, the College of Engineering encourages students in Montgomery County and the surrounding counties to participate in this summer experience.
What Should I Bring?
Wear what you usually wear to school, but keep in mind that some of the labs may be messy. Please note that closed toed shoes are required in the labs. Virginia Tech is a large campus, so you will do a lot of walking - comfortable shoes are a must! You will use our computers and laboratory supplies. Lunch will be provided at one of Virginia Tech's dining halls.
What Happens If I Get Sick or Hurt?
All students are covered by comprehensive accident and hospitalization insurance from the time they arrive until the time they leave campus. The Schiffert Student Health Center on campus is able to handle most problems. Please remember insurance will only cover the time between your arrival to and departure from campus.
When Should I Plan to Arrive and Depart?
Imagination 2015 will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the Virginia Tech campus. Transportation will be provided from Roanoke to Blacksburg and return during the second week only (July 20 - 24).
Who Are Your Imagination Engineers?

How much does the program cost?
A $125 non-refundable commitment fee will be required for those students who are accepted (PLEASE DO NOT SEND A CHECK OR MONEY ORDER AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION). This fee will confirm your spot in the program. Should payment of the $125 fee cause undue hardship for an applicant, a number of scholarships are available. It is not intended that anyone be prevented from participating due to financial concerns. Call (540) 231-3973 for further information.
