Continuing and Professional Education is a unit of Outreach and International Affairs at Virginia Tech. As part of a rapidly growing outreach activity within the university, we provide more than 450 short courses, seminars, workshops, training programs, and conferences to 30,000 individuals per year. Most of this activity involves post-graduate level instruction for individuals who are seeking to develop their knowledge and skill in their respective professional areas. | "Numerous ideas for publications and research came from my involvement with practitioners. And, continuing education programs have produced consulting opportunities for me as well as my peers. We were able to generate funds to support graduate students. How can you not be involved in outreach?" |

| "Continuing and Professional Education has been critical to our success. We have relied on them for contractual services, developing financial and marketing plans, logistical support, brochures and mailings, and proceedings. This partnership is an integral part of our efforts and has helped us to generate new affiliates who support our research efforts through financial sponsorships." |
