The Center for Innovation-based Manufacturing is pleased to invite you to participate in the Third Annual Innovation-based Manufacturing workshop at Virginia Tech. The event is scheduled on November 13, 2012 from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm at the Graduate Life Center (GLC) at main campus in Blacksburg, Virginia. Registration for Virginia Tech faculty and students is free of charge.  

The workshop will bring nationally recognized speakers on topics such as advanced manufacturing, lean systems design, and open innovation. The event includes a panel discussion where local entrepreneurs and start-ups will discuss the main challenges faced when creating and developing their companies into successful organizations. Lunch will also be provided.

The event will conclude with an innovation competition where five pre-selected product concepts developed by Virginia Tech students and surrounding community members will be pitched to the audience and judges. The winner of the innovation competition will receive a $5,000 start-up company award.
