With the opening of the Signature Engineering Building nearing, we have a unique and important opportunity to address critical space needs across the College of Engineering. We recognize that all of our departments need more space to grow research and instructional programs. This website and the process for allocating space that we developed is designed to give each of our departments a fair and equitable chance of gaining space. In an effort to be transparent, all submitted proposals along with the matrix by which we make decisions are available for viewing to everyone.
The move into the Signature Engineering Building is planned for Spring of 2014. Hence, this process for space reallocation begins now and will conclude by December 15th of this year. This timeline provides departments a full calendar year to address any subsequent logistics associated with space reallocations.
You will note references to the College of Engineering Strategic Plan throughout the proposal submission page. Our Strategic Plan was written to inform our decision-making and our promise is to use the Plan as our guide in making space allocation decisions.
